🌿 Plant-based natural fibers: Sustainable, breathable and particularly skin-friendly.
- Cotton: Extremely skin-friendly, robust, absorbent and durable. Ideal for: T-shirts, jeans, everyday clothing.
🧺 Care: Usually washable at 30–40 °C. White cotton can often withstand more. Suitable for tumble drying, ironing at high heat is possible.
- Organic Cotton: Same benefits as cotton, but grown without chemical pesticides. Ideal for: Sustainable fashion, baby clothing.
🧺 Care: Wash at 30 °C with mild detergent to provide maximum protection for natural fibers and colors. Air drying recommended.
- Linen: Derived from flax. Extremely airy, cooling and tear-resistant, but wrinkles easily. Ideal for: Summer shirts, summer dresses, lightweight trousers.
🧺 Care: Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Do not tumble dry. Always iron while damp at high heat.
- Hemp: Very environmentally friendly to grow, extremely durable and has antibacterial properties. Ideal for: Robust leisure wear, jackets.
🧺 Care: Washable at 30–40 °C. Becomes softer with every wash. Air dry and iron while damp.
🐑 Animal-based natural fibers: Natural talents for perfect thermoregulation and sophisticated looks.
- Wool: Sheep's wool. Provides extreme warmth, is dirt-repellent and hardly wrinkles. Ideal for: Winter coats, thick sweaters, suits.
🧺 Care: Wash sparingly; airing out is often enough. If necessary: hand wash or wool cycle (cold), use wool detergent, dry flat.
- Merino wool: Particularly fine sheep's wool. Does not itch, provides warmth in the cold and cools in the heat. Ideal for: Thermal underwear, fine knit sweaters.
🧺 Care: Often machine washable on the wool cycle at 30 °C. Do not use fabric softener. Dry flat in the air.
- Cashmere: Precious hair from the cashmere goat. Luxuriously soft, extremely lightweight and very warm. Ideal for: Premium knitwear, scarves.
🧺 Care: Wool cycle (cold) or cold hand wash with cashmere detergent. Never wring out. Dry flat on a towel.
- Silk: From the cocoons of the silkworm. Sophisticated sheen, extremely smooth, cools in summer and warms in winter. Ideal for: Elegant blouses, evening dresses, pajamas.
🧺 Care: Hand wash or special silk cycle in a laundry bag. Use liquid silk detergent. Iron inside out only at the lowest setting.
🌲 Regenerated chemical fibers (Semi-synthetic): Chemically produced from natural raw materials (usually wood). Combine the softness of nature with the functionality of synthetic fibers.
- Viscose / Rayon: Derived from cellulose. Drapes beautifully, has a silk-like sheen and is very soft. Ideal for: Lightweight blouses, dresses.
🧺 Care: Wash on a gentle cycle at max. 30 °C with liquid delicate detergent. Do not tumble dry. Reshape while wet.
- Modal: An advanced version of viscose (usually from beech wood). Even softer, more elastic and retains its shape better. Ideal for: Underwear, loungewear, T-shirts.
🧺 Care: Easy-care or gentle cycle up to 40 °C. Best washed inside out. Iron at moderate heat.
- Lyocell / Tencel: Made from eucalyptus or beech wood. Extremely environmentally friendly in production, super soft, absorbs moisture perfectly. Ideal for: Sustainable fashion, sportswear, lightweight trousers.
🧺 Care: Wash at 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Hardly shrinks and wrinkles little. Let air dry.
- Acetate: Artificial silk made from cellulose. Wrinkle-resistant, retains its shape and glossy. Ideal for: Inner linings of jackets and blazers.
🧺 Care: Hand wash only or very gentle cold cycle. Never tumble dry. Iron only at a lukewarm setting.
🔬 Synthetic chemical fibers (Fully synthetic): Pure petroleum-based synthetic fibers. Extremely functional, tear-resistant and easy-care.
- Polyester (PES): The most frequently used fiber. Wrinkle-free, tear-resistant, dries extremely quickly, does not shrink. Ideal for: Sportswear, jackets, clothing blends.
🧺 Care: Easy-care program at 30–40 °C. Dries extremely quickly in the air; a tumble dryer is usually unnecessary. Ironing is generally not required.
- Polyamide / Nylon (PA): The most tear-resistant of all textile fibers. Extremely elastic and water-repellent. Ideal for: Tights, swimwear, outdoor jackets.
🧺 Care: Wash at 30 °C on a normal cycle. Do not use fabric softener (it destroys the functionality). Avoid heat (tumble dryer/ironing) at all costs.
- Polyacrylic (PAN): Feels like wool and provides warmth, but is much lighter and easier to care for than real wool. Ideal for: Affordable knit sweaters, hats.
🧺 Care: Wash at a maximum of 30 °C on a gentle cycle. Can pill if exposed to too much heat. Do not tumble dry.
- Elastane / Spandex / Lycra: Extremely stretchy (up to 700% elastic). Provides the perfect stretch effect. Ideal for: Skinny jeans, leggings, sportswear.
🧺 Care: Wash at 30 °C. Important: Never use fabric softener, as this causes the elastic fibers to lose their shape. Do not tumble dry.
